Bar Harbor

It was a sunny day as we pulled into Bar Harbor, Maine.

Agamont park was a beautiful spot by the water.

We had lunch and did some shopping. Then it was time for blueberry ice cream! Wicked good!

The Bluenose Inn was our home for the week, and our room had beautiful views over the harbor.

We have fond memories of visiting Acadia Park may years ago, and were eager to visit the next day. Our plan was to drive up Cadillac Mountain and enjoy the views. However, Mother Nature had another plan, and we took our drive through a very foggy day. The park was still beautiful in an eerie way, but views were limited.

Fortunately, we were in Bar Harbor for a week. The next few days were much better!

Most days, after hiking through Acadia, we would head into town for dinner – seafood, of course – and entertainment.

After dinner one night, we walked by the Ivy Manor. On the front lawn there were fire pits, many chairs, and a bar! It was fun to sit and visit with fellow travelers and share our adventures.

A whale watch is required when visiting Bar Harbor, so one day we headed out to sea on the AtlantiCat. It was a chilly, two-sweatshirt day, but worth it! We spotted several whales, including a momma and her calf.

Kathy’s birthday dinner at the Reading Room was amazing, and a gorgeous sunset was a lovely farewell on our last night in Bar Harbor. What a great trip!
