Besides Paris, we made two other stops in France.

Amiens is a beautiful town that surrounds a pretty canal.

It was fun to walk the paths along the water and see the different neighborhoods along the way.

Jules Verne lived in Amiens and wrote many of his novels there. Our hotel had images of him everywhere.

The most impressive part of Amiens was the Notre Dame Cathedral. It was amazingly large on the outside.

And amazingly beautiful on the inside!

We had a view of the cathedral from our room day and night.

We also visited Reims in the heart of the Champagne region. Reims had a charming downtown area with shops, fountains and a merry-go-round!

Reims also has a Notre Dame Cathedral, every bit as impressive as the one in Amiens!

Of course a champagne tour was in order, and ours started with a drive to Hautvillers to visit to the grave of Dom Perignon in the Saint-Sindulphe church.

Our first tasting was at Picart-Thiout. We were pleasantly surprised by a champagne liqueur and had to take some home with us!

We stopped on a hilltop to enjoy the views over this lovely winemaking region.

We then stopped at Le Clos Corbier. The tour and champagnes were delightful.

And walking through the champagne caves was very cool!

We don’t want to stop living “la belle vie,” but it is time to visit a new country: Luxembourg!
