Once again, we had the urge to travel.

Fortunately, we were able to fly to Amsterdam in the springtime. We checked into the lovely Clayton Hotel in the city center.

Unfortunately, the weather was cooler than our thin blood could handle. We had to wear long pants, jackets and real shoes (no flip flops!).

Fortunately, Amsterdam is fun, no matter the weather. We explored the town and visited the Anne Frank Museum (a very moving experience), and spent hours at the Rijksmuseum (an incredible collection of Dutch art and history).

We walked through Vondel Park (pretty) and Bussum-Naarden to see River, Felix and their new home (awesome)!

Unfortunately, we could not understand Dutch. It’s difficult to believe this is a real language. It sometimes sounds like people are just making up words as they go!

Fortunately, everyone also speaks English so it was easy to spend Kenton’s birthday visiting tulip fields and enjoying a fun dinner at the Night Kitchen.
Unfortunately, either the jet-lag or the stop at the ‘coffee shop’ seemed to be affecting us.

Fortunately, Amsterdam is delightful and the perfect start to our springtime adventure!
