Heading down the Hudson River

We left the Erie Canal and turned south, cruising down the Hudson River past Troy, Menands, and Starbuck Island.

At Albany we watched a small tug turn a large freighter that was docking.

We made a quick stop at New Baltimore, then continued south on the always beautiful Hudson River, past Coxsackie and Athens, following a rainbow.

The clouds swirled as we passed Saugherties, Kingston, Staatsburg, Lloyd and Newburgh.

We saw the remains of the Bannerman Castle, and passed Constitution Island and West Point.

After a rainy night at Half Moon Bay, we traveled under cloudy skies and the Tappan Zee Bridge toward New York City.

We enjoyed a stop in Jersey City, and found a new favorite rooftop bar!

It was a beautiful night with a great view.

At sunrise, we said good-bye to Lady Liberty,

and headed down the coast to the Manasquan Inlet for a long overdue visit to New Jersey!
