We cruised up the Danube, going under bridges and through locks and enjoying every stop along the way (even the unexpected one when the boat broke).

The crew was excellent and our fellow travelers were delightful.

We cruised past Bratislava, Slovakia, stopped in Vienna, Austria (pics in next post), and enjoyed a tour of Gottweig Abbey in Krems, Austria.

One sunny day, we sailed past amazing Austrian towns, churches and castles.

It was such a beautiful day to be on a boat!

We had a fun tour of Linz, Austria. There were many beautiful buildings and churches.

Our guide showed us where ancient ruins were preserved under the streets. And the Old Town Hall had a map of the city on the floor. We were told about iced coffee and just had to try it. It was delicious!

Our last day on the river cruise, we pulled into Passau, Germany. We had a fun and interesting tour during the day.

We enjoyed walking through Hell’s Alley, which was really just a street filled with artisan shops. Then we walked uphill into a pretty town.

At the top of the town we admired St Stephen’s Cathedral.

We had made it to Germany, and we celebrated our last night on the Danube at a lively dinner with music and beer! Prost!
