Bonjour!

After a year of Kenton’s “unfortunate incarceration” in hospitals, and long recovery at home, we were finally feeling ready for some extended traveling! We flew to Paris and stayed at the lovely Hotel Litteraire Marcel Ayme in the charming neighborhood of Montmartre. We arrived very early, so a Parisian breakfast was in order.

We walked enchanting streets and steep staircases to reach Sacre-Couer and its aerial view of the city.

The church had amazing details, both inside and out.

An afternoon Foodie Tour with Arina brought us to several sights and nearby treats: Moulin Rouge (macaroons), Wall of Love (beef Bourgogne), The Man Who Walked Through Walls (cheeses) and back to Sacre-Couer (crepes). It was a delightful and filling tour!

A second day in Montmartre was spent wandering beautiful avenues and seeing the sights along our path to the local vineyard.

It was tiny!

And next door was the Lapin Agile. Pablo an Alfred were not around, but there may have been a man in blue suede shoes! Picasso at the Lapin Agile by Steve Martin

Dinners were fun in beautiful, local cafes, including the one used in the film Amelie.

These first days of travel were exhausting, but exhilarating. Visiting Montmartre was an amazing way to start our adventures!
