Belgium

Poppies were in bloom along the roadside as we drove into Antwerp, Belgium.

The city was bustling with visitors enjoying the beautiful day.

Grote Market square was huge, with impressive, beautiful buildings in every direction.

A food tour started with some interesting options (did somebody say ‘horse meat’?!). It evolved into a walking history tour, and eventually ended at a bar where we enjoyed a cold beer with friends. Antwerp was surpising and fun!

Our first day in Bruges, we realized that we need to live here! We’ve picked out the perfect apartment. It’s above the souvenir shop in the center of town and it overlooks a pretty canal.

Our new neighborhood has much to see and do. The bells of the local church chime throughout the day as a pleasant soundtrack.

We’ve found our favorite jazz club and our favorite neighborhood bar!

Oh, and our favorite restaurant! And did we mention the Belgian chocolates?

When we move to Bruges, we hope you will visit!

While considering our move to Belgium, we spent some time in Brussels. It is a huge city. The Grand-Place square was even larger and more impressive than what we had seen in Antwerp.

We wandered the streets, seeing the sights and finding a great local restaurant and a secret rooftop bar.

On a chocolate tour, Fraser walked us around the city and through Les Galeries Royals to try everything from chocolate ice cream to pralines (layered chocolate candies) to chocolates made with champagne. It was fun and delicious!

The next morning, we tried Belgian waffles at a charming little waffle house. They were amazing!

Heading to France next!
